Pits, Pots and People – 10,000 years of archaeology at Bestwall Quarry, Wareham
The day school will present the results of 13 years of excavation, ahead of quarrying, on the Bestwall peninsula, Wareham. This 55 hectare landscape has revealed evidence of Mesolithic occupation, Middle Bronze Age settlement, Roman pottery production, Saxon metalworking and Civil War activity.
All are welcome - beginners and experts alike.
